About Meat Church
Matt Pittman's route into the Meat Church world began away from home, during a Central Texas trip. A taste of salt-and-pepper brisket delivered the moment that turned a casual interest into sustained barbecue study.
The Alabama kitchen he shared with Grandma June gave Matt Pittman an early language for food—clear, generous and satisfying. He refined it through backyard cooking, moved into barbecue competitions, and appeared on BBQ Pitmasters. His seasoning chapter began with Meat Church Holy Cow, Matt Pittman's first rub.
Meat Church welcomes cooks who are ready to learn, experiment and make stronger barbecue. The practical route into that learning is the Learn guidesand choose one idea to practice. Meat Church exists as a barbecue community where instruction and seasoning can move a cook forward.
Away from competition and instruction, Matt Pittman is in Texas with Tracie and their four kids, with family and cooking closely connected.
